Black Man! Daddy!

400643_uncle_and_nephewI want to start out by saying that this is my article filled with things I have seen through my eyes.  I want to thank everyone that participated in the part one of Black Man.  I was going to write about enablers and the black man but I will save that for part three.

GOD LOVED YOU SO MUCH THAT HE MADE YOU A DAD!

There are so many sisters with families. The most important person missing from a lot of these families is daddy. I drive transit buses for a living and for most of the month; you see a majority of women and children. When the first week of the month rolls around, DADDY”S HOME! He’s grocery shopping with his family, getting new clothes and shoes at the mall, his woman is paying HIS bus fare and all is good. When that week is over you don’t see him anymore.

1138186_man_sleeping_on_the_groundThe first time I came to Atlanta, I was on a Greyhound bus on my way to Macon, GA and I saw about 50 people lined up on the sidewalk. I thought they were shooting a movie or something. Ten years later I moved to Atlanta and that's when I found out that there was no movie being shot ten years prior. I found out, that for the 50 people I saw, there were hundreds more all over the city. They were homeless. What's worse is there are many homeless shelters here and they are filled to capacity. Why? What saddens me is people walk around them like they don't exist. Some of them have lost jobs, some are mentally challenged, drug addicts, and veterans.

Child Support

moneyChild support is the ongoing practice for a periodic payment paid directly or indirectly to the non-custodial parent for the financial care and support of child(ren) of a relationship or marriage that has been terminated. Normally there is no gender requirement for child support, a father may pay a mother or a mother may pay a father.

Child support is based on the policy that both parents are obligated to financially support their child(ren), even when the child(ren) are not living with both parents. Child support refers to the financial support of children and not other forms of support, such as emotional support, physical care, or spiritual support.
