As of January 2010, Dulymus “Deuce” McAllister announced his retirement from the New Orleans Saints. Deuce was drafted as a running back for the Saints in 2001. Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet this young man will probably say, “There is more to Deuce than meets the eye.” He is not only a record-holding running back (the first Saint to have twenty-two 100-yard games, and the first to rush over 1,000 yards in 3 straight seasons) but also a business-minded, caring and giving individual. On February 7, 2010, the New Orleans Saints won Super Bowl XLIV and therefore, Deuce was a recipient of a Super Bowl Ring.
Deuce founded the Catch 22 Foundation in 2002. This foundation has been a blessing to many children and families. The motto for the foundation is: “Dedicated to enhancing the lives of under-privileged youth in the Gulf South Region.” The foundation provides meals to families at Thanksgiving, provides school supplies as well as school uniforms, sponsors Christmas shopping trips for children, etc. De’Shundra McAllister is the director for the Catch 22 Foundation www.catch22foundation.org
