Lindsay Lohan has recently begun a 90 day jail sentence, stemming from a July 6, 2010 Probation Revocation Hearing. The sentence also includes a 90 day rehab stay, after her release.

The once child fashion model has made a great career for herself throughtout the years. Her debut, at the age of eleven, in the Disney film, Parent Trap was only the beginning.

The model, actress, pop-singer and song-writer has accomplished performances between 2003-2005 in films such as: Mean Girls, Herbie Fully Loaded, and Freaky Friday. She also appeared in a few independent films: Emilio Estevez's "Bobby" and Robert Altman's "A Prairie Home Companion".

Community Awareness After the Storm

IMAGE_050In spite of the ruins left behind on April 24, 2010, from the greater than 1 mile wide tornado, the residents of Lexington, MS, decided to continue with their 2nd Annual Community Awareness Event. This event was scheduled for April 24, 2010, but was rescheduled due to the severe weather conditions.

On May 1, 2010, the weather conditions were not most favorable, but did allow for the event to take place. This event was held in an effort to raise awareness about and to prevent sexual violence on school campuses.

Included were sack races, half court basketball, volley ball, hanging apple blindfold game, and a speed stack competition. Several vendors were set up and were selling candles and several different types of jewelry. Census 2010 had a table set up as well as a table with information about “Healthy Eating Tips.” My book, “Temporary Power Outages,” was also on display and available for purchase. Falsely Accused

1231735_thumb_print_1Approximately 7 miles from our nation's capital, on March 31, 2010,  a drive-by shooting took place leaving four people dead and five others wounded. South Capitol Street has seen it's share of violence, as well as the eastern part of Washington, DC.

People were congregated on the front stoop of an apartment building, having just returned from a funeral at about 7:30 p.m. when a silver Chrysler minivan pulled up and shots rang out. Shortly after, a police chase began through Prince George County in Maryland , where it ended in the 700th block of Yuma Street SE. During the chase an AK-47 type weapon was seen thrown from the vehicle and other weapons were recovered inside.

Orlando Carter and Nathaniel Simms, both 26, were arrested when the chase came to a halt. The driver, an alleged 14 year old was
